Presentation of the Consensus Outlook, 30 May 2024, hybrid
The 22nd Session of the ASEANCOF will be hosted by Lao PDR’s Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) in a hybrid meeting format. This includes two days of pre-COF training on 27 and 28 May (in person only) followed by the COF proper on 29 and 30 May 2024 (open for online participation). The ASEAN Climate Outlook Forum (ASEANCOF) activities support decision making to manage climate-related risks by providing climate services that aims to provide collaboratively developed and consensus based seasonal climate outlooks and related information on a regional scale. This help assess climate vulnerabilities, improve the understanding of local climate conditions and its impacts, and enhance the adaptation planning to support sustainable development.
The theme of ASEANCOF-22 is agriculture and climate services, with a particular focus on drought. The first day (29 May) will cover presentations from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services and Global Producing Centres on the June – August 2024 outlook. On the second day (30 May), along with presentations and activities related to the theme, the consensus outlook for June – August 2024 and a review of December 2023 – February 2024 will be presented.
