Eighteenth Session of the ASEAN Climate Outlook Forum (ASEANCOF-18)

The 18th Session of the ASEANCOF will be hosted by PAGASA and conducted online. ASEANCOF-18 aims to generate consensus rainfall and temperature outlooks for the June - August 2022 boreal summer monsoon season. The consensus will be provided alongside related information on weather and climate drivers in the Southeast Asia region such as the El Niño/La Niña, Indian Ocean Dipole, and monsoon circulations.
Theme: The proposed theme for ASEANCOF-18 is about understanding monsoon variability. This session will focus on the effect of monsoon in the ASEAN region as well as the importance of its monitoring and prediction (e.g. onset, duration, strength). Such information are expected to provide new insights in the agriculture, water resources, disaster risk reduction, and related sectors of the respective ASEAN member countries.
Participation: All ASEAN NMHSs, as well as the ASEANCOF Working Group (AWG) members, and international experts will be notified through an invitation letter.
